Chisato Sumiyoshi (住吉 千里 Sumiyoshi Chisato) is a sophomore at the Academy, the president of the Research Club at Takafuji Private Academy and the childhood friend of Yūki Ōjima who does not like chocolates due to the death of Daiki Sumiyoshi (Chisato's deceased younger brother).

Chisato has waist-length strawberry blonde hair that has 2 small pigtails while the rest of the hair is left down and blue-green eyes.
She wears the female Takafuji Private Academy uniform and she wears it with pride!
Personality[]
Chisato secretly had feelings for Yūki Ōjima ever since the 1st episode, though at first it isn't love but more of as a replacement for Daiki Sumiyoshi (Chisato's deceased younger brother). She has the capabilities of being a good leader hence being the campaign manager of Yuuki during the student council election. She also has a low self esteem, as she worries of Yuuki leaving her, despite saying otherwise.

Daiki is Chisato's younger brother who died when she was little that she can't eat chocolate until she was forced to eat it by Yūki Ōjima, after
Yūki Ōjima[]
When Chisato's younger brother dies, she unintentionally uses Yuuki as his replacement and makes him promise to always be with her. She always repented that she couldn't make him happy while Daiki was alive. This was when she met Yuuki as a child and gave him chocolate.
Through a series of flashbacks, we learn how Chisato and Yuuki became friends. He was having a tantrum on his first day of school and Chisato appeared to give him chocolate and calm him down. This works for a while but Chisato continues to only offer Yuuki the chocolate no matter the situation. One day Yuuki gets upset and refuses the treat. This sends Chisato back to a place where she didn’t want to share chocolate with her brother that ended with him getting hit by a car. Baby Chisato loses her mind and Yuuki accepts the chocolates to calm her down. He promises he is not disappearing and will remain by her side.
Later on, after Yuuki got hit by a car, she becomes devastated by Yuki's close call and refuses to let go of his arm. When they return home, Chisato will not let go of his arm to do anything. Not to change, not to eat, not to go to the bathroom. Yuuki gets frustrated and tries to take a shower. He yells at Chisato that he is sorry it happened but he didn’t mean to hurt her. She starts chanting that he is going to disappear and accuses him of breaking his promise not to leave her. Growing frustrated, Yuuki hits Chisato because he's sick of her. She runs out of the room and returns with a chocolate bar. Yuuki refuses to eat it and accuses her of using him as a replacement for her dead brother. She tries to deny it, but Yuuki warns her not to and says that Chisato doesn't love him as himself, which is why he rejects Chisato’s affections for him, saying it isn't love. He says that she needs to eat the chocolate and to love him like himself and not her brother. Chisato attempts to eat the chocolate, but throws up. Both spend the night without talking to one another. The next day, after Mifuyu helps her realizes her true feelings for Yuuki, they both reconcile and Chisato offers him some chocolate but not before eating some herself.
At the end of the anime, they kiss. It can be implied that they became a couple later.
Mifuyu Kiba[]
Mifuyu and Chisato have been best friends since high school. She is Yūki's classmate and is a member of FRC.
After Chisato and Yuuki have a fallout, Mifuyu goes to visit Chisato who is still in bed. She tries to get Chisato dressed, but she refuses to get out of bed. Mifuyu repeats some of the things Yuuki said only kinder, that she needs to stop using Yuuki as a substitute for her dead brother. Chisato claims she isn’t, then confronts her about Mifuyu being in love with Yuuki and she should admit her feelings and not hold back because of her. Mifuyu gets hurt and tells Chisato to stop saying those stuffs, because she wants Chisato to be happy and not wanting to risk her friendship. Then, to get her to leave her room, she changes into Chisato’s clothes that show off the scar she got during surgery. She runs to the elevator to show her friends what she has been “hiding”, but Chisato stops her. She hugs Mifuyu and says she is sorry for all that has happened between them and Mifuyu reassures her that her brother is happy and he'd want her to move on and be happy with Yuuki.
